For the third volume in our ongoing Columbia Noir series, we return once again to the studio?s archives for a sextet of films which brings together some of the great names of film noir - in stories of psychoanalysis and cynicism, racketeers and radioactivity, casinos and killing sprees, and cops and convicts.

Johnny O'Clock (1947): A high-class crook gets in trouble with the law.

The Dark Past (1948): An escaped psychopathic killer who takes the family and neighbors of police psychologist hostage reveals a recurring nightmare to the doctor.

Convicted (1950): A D.A. becomes the prison warden where he tries to help an inmate he prosecuted, because he believes his sentence was excessive.

Between Midnight and Dawn (1950): Prowl car cops on night duty romance a reluctant young lady while in danger from a vengeful racketeer.

The Sniper (1952): A sniper kills young brunettes as the police attempt to grapple with the psychology of the unknown assailant.

City of Fear (1959): A vicious killer escapes from San Quentin with a cannister of what he believes to be heroin but is actually a radioactive substance that threatens all Los Angeles.
